 India:

  • The archives of Indian labor were formed with long-term objective to work as a special repository of workers' records and voices, and to work as text, visual and verbal records on labor in India. There are currently 8 special collections in which 40,000 printed pages, 100 hours of taped interviews are deposited in digital form. Apart from this, many special reports and articles on India's labor history are also available on this digital library. This library is VV. Greenstone has been developed through open source software. Registration is required to reach the Giri National Labor Institute, Noida Library.
  • India's Digital Library is a digital library of books, which is available free, read-only, searchable, primarily in Indian languages ​​for everyone on the Internet. Very soon it is expected that this portal will provide entrance to Indian digital libraries in science, arts, culture, music, films, traditional medicine, palm leaves and many others. This project is a collaboration between various Indian institutions and universities and Carnegie Mellon University under the Universal Digital Library Project.
  • Digital Library of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has been developed by IIMK library, holds documents on management, economics, sociology, etc and IIMK staff publications. The number of documents included in the library development phase is low.

  • Librarian's Digital Library [LDL] has been developed by DRTC, which includes full text of documents / articles related to Indian librarians. In the future, it is planning to include the proceedings of the conference of Indian LIS Associations.

  • The Nalanda Digital Library is the result of the ongoing digital library Nikkisha National Institute of Technology, Calicut Library. The objective of Nalanda Project is to have a full Digital Library in NITC to meet the growing demand for information resources from the remote users of the rest of the country along with the campus user community. Some resources are open to everyone, otherwise they are resistant to NITC campus and their respective users. Currently, this phase is evolving.
  • Vidyadhi: Digital Library and e-Scholarship Portal is planning to develop a repository for Indian doctoral thesis. It currently provides access to Indian thesis and metadata of universities. Some full text theses [ETDs] are currently available in their database. It started in 2000 as a project with the support of NISSAT, Government of India, now it is developing as a national initiative with the support of the Ford Foundation and Microsoft India. It invents universities and researchers to participate in this program. This project is based on library and information science department, University of Mysore, Mysore, Karnataka.
